21 Things That Made Me Smile This Month

December 29, 2018 1 Comment

One of my 2018 goals was to write a happy thought down each day, so I converted the monthly spreads in my Erin Condren planner to a happy thoughts tracker. I have consistently written a happy thought down by the end of each day since January 1, 2018. I was told this could possibly spread smiles to others, so I decided to make a blog post out of some of my favorites. When you’re done reading, tell me something good in the comments below – such as your own happy thought of the day!

  1. Healthy homemade dinners while watching Les Misérables
  2. Early morning Starbucks runs
  3. Having the Rockefeller ice skating rink all to myself – I still can’t believe this magical moment happened!
  4. A successful first book club – we are reading personal development books
  5. A girls weekend in Nashville, TN
  6. Southern comfort foods like cheesy hashbrown casserole, mac & cheese, biscuits, and cheddar grits (do you see the common denominator?)
  7. Goofy holiday movies on Hallmark and Netflix
  8. Sending out my personal holiday cards
  9. Receiving holiday cards from others (I string them along my bar cart for the season!)
  10. My mom came to visit me in NYC!
  11. I hand-painted two Bibles for my mom and Grandmother for Christmas – both generated better reactions than I could’ve imagined!
  12. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2
  13. The view of the Statue of Liberty from my office building – mind you, I see this view multiple times per day, but for some reason it just hit me during this particular sighting that I live in the greatest city in the world!
  14. Illustrating holiday cards at my friend’s pop-up store, HMÉTÉ (photo above)
  15. Two hours of bliss at Aire Ancient Baths in TriBeCa
  16. Timeless’ 2 hour movie finale – a must-watch if you’re a fellow history nerd or love time travel!
  17. Vitamin D in Florida
  18. Riding bikes around Key West
  19. Story time with family around the dinner table
  20. Our holiday tradition of cheese fondue on Christmas Eve – I freakin’ love cheese!
  21. A feeling of peace and contentment I had mid-flight on my way from Florida to NYC

xoxo, A

Rockefeller Center Ice Skating all to yourself! Sounds like a scene from a Christmas romcom! Perhaps we should start writing. We will need Logan for this!!
