One of my 2018 goals was to write a happy thought down each day, so I converted the monthly spreads in my Erin Condren planner to a happy thoughts tracker. I have consistently written a happy thought down by the end of each day since January 1, 2018. I was told this could possibly spread smiles to others, so I decided to make a blog post out of some of my favorites. When you’re done reading, tell me something good in the comments below – such as your own happy thought of the day!
- Healthy homemade dinners while watching Les Misérables
- Early morning Starbucks runs
- Having the Rockefeller ice skating rink all to myself – I still can’t believe this magical moment happened!
- A successful first book club – we are reading personal development books
- A girls weekend in Nashville, TN
- Southern comfort foods like cheesy hashbrown casserole, mac & cheese, biscuits, and cheddar grits (do you see the common denominator?)
- Goofy holiday movies on Hallmark and Netflix
- Sending out my personal holiday cards
- Receiving holiday cards from others (I string them along my bar cart for the season!)
- My mom came to visit me in NYC!
- I hand-painted two Bibles for my mom and Grandmother for Christmas – both generated better reactions than I could’ve imagined!
- The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2
- The view of the Statue of Liberty from my office building – mind you, I see this view multiple times per day, but for some reason it just hit me during this particular sighting that I live in the greatest city in the world!
- Illustrating holiday cards at my friend’s pop-up store, HMÉTÉ (photo above)
- Two hours of bliss at Aire Ancient Baths in TriBeCa
- Timeless’ 2 hour movie finale – a must-watch if you’re a fellow history nerd or love time travel!
- Vitamin D in Florida
- Riding bikes around Key West
- Story time with family around the dinner table
- Our holiday tradition of cheese fondue on Christmas Eve – I freakin’ love cheese!
- A feeling of peace and contentment I had mid-flight on my way from Florida to NYC

Rockefeller Center Ice Skating all to yourself! Sounds like a scene from a Christmas romcom! Perhaps we should start writing. We will need Logan for this!!
