British accents. Princes and princesses. So much history. I’ve wanted to visit London, England for as long as I can remember and I finally got a chance to last month! Below I’m sharing my travel tips for London, so you know what to eat, do, and see while traveling across the pond:
Where to Stay:
Book a room at the Hilton Kensington.
Near multiple Underground stations, free WiFi, and a delicious breakfast spread full of traditional British dishes.
What to Do:
Bring out your inner wizard or witch at the Platform 9 and 3/4 photo op at King’s Cross Station.
The line is long but worth it.
Stop by the Bank of England Museum for some financial facts.
Re-energize with some afternoon tea at The Goring.
Duchess Kate and the rest of the Middletons stayed at this hotel the night before the royal wedding.
This was our favorite activity in London!
Take a tour of Buckingham Palace.
Spend some time at the National Portrait Gallery for gorgeous paintings of some of England’s most famous faces.
Did I mention most of London’s museums are free?!
What to See:
Enjoy a stroll through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park.
Check out the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge.
Gawk over how large and gorgeous St. Paul’s Cathedral is.
Visit Paddington Station to see where the infamous bear gets his name.
Walk along the Thames River and be amazed at all the different bridges.
Where to Eat:
Grab some fish & chips at a local pub (like The Swan) and wash it down with a Guinness.
Grab a slice of pizza (or two!) at Arancina.
