Anna Victoria is a breath of fresh air within the fitness industry! The twenty-seven year old is absolutely gorgeous, but she’s also surprisingly real. While I enjoy following a bunch of virtual trainers on social media, I feel as though a lot of them have the ability to devote their entire lives to healthy eating and workouts (not realistic for everyone’s schedules), have washboard abs (not realistic for everyone’s bodies), and unfortunately have just become unrelatable as their fame grows.
I discovered Anna Victoria on social media and became one of her “Instagram Friends” (as she refers to her followers). Just by sharing her personal fitness journey and creating her Fit Body Guides (#fbg), she’s gained a following of almost 925,000 IG friends (#fbggirls) around the world! I can see why so many people are drawn to her. Don’t get me wrong – Anna is almost intimidatingly stunning (especially in person!) except for the fact that she’s so down-to-earth. I mean, she posted this photo below of her stomach rolls for goodness’ sake. She also posts when she misses workouts – like during her recent bachelorette party celebrations. Not many fitness professionals would do that, but I love her for it!:
This weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Anna Victoria + Shape Magazine Meet Up. It was held at Adelante Studios in Chelsea. We were led through different circuits to sculpt our glutes, legs, arms, and abs with 60 seconds between rounds. Post-workout, we refueled with Poland Spring water, Power Crunch protein bars, and Juice Generation’s Hail to Kale green juice and Coco-To-Go coconut water.
After snacking, we enjoyed a Q&A sesh. This is when I really got to know Anna. Check out ten of my favorite quotes, tips, and insights into her life below:
Anna’s fitness journey started when she moved in with her fiancé and he informed her that junk food, such as Goldfish crackers, wasn’t a proper meal for dinner. (I get the same speech about cereal…)
Since she was getting caught up during the day and putting off workouts, she now wakes up at 6am to get in a morning sweat sesh. (She struggled during the first few weeks though!)
She eats 6 times a day – 3 meals and 3 snacks.
It’s easy to get caught up in social media especially since her career was built on it. Anna tries to take Fridays off to spend time with loved ones. She said, “We are human. We are not these social media pages”.
She believes everything in life either helps us reach our goals or they don’t. Alcohol is one of the things she believes has no benefits.
To see better results, Anna suggests changing your workout routine every 4-6 weeks and continue to increase reps, weight and/or intensity.
Though she believes in the 80/20 rule in regards to healthy eating, she confesses to eating 50/50 while traveling. She makes sure to always eat a healthy breakfast and prepares snacks in advance though.
“Don’t get down on yourself if your fit body doesn’t match someone else’s body.”
She doesn’t track calories, but she does track macros (protein, fats, and carbs).
“We can’t pick where we gain fat, and we can’t pick where we lose it from.”
After, Anna stuck around to chat and take photos with anyone and everyone who wanted to meet her!
