After applying in January, hearing back in August, a phone interview, an in-person interview with three interviewers, and three months of training, I became an official volunteer of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art last month! It’s been an amazing experience from learning about numerous pieces of art to giving Project Runway‘s Tim Gunn directions to a painting in the Modern & Contemporary Galleries.
Just when I thought this experience couldn’t get any neater, I attended the Employee Holiday Party! This annual soiree takes place around the Temple of Dendur, an Egyptian temple dating back to 10 B.C.! Is there a cooler venue for a holiday party? I think not!
There was macaroni & cheese, collard greens, mashed potatoes, chicken pot pie, salad, honey-baked ham, biscuits, and honey butter.
For dessert, they served coffee, hot chocolate (with marshmallows!), and cookies.
Oh, and did I mention there was a Sphinx?
The only thing that could top this is a chance to volunteer at the Met Gala in May…a girl can dream! Tell me about your fun holiday parties in the comments below!
Stay fit and fabulous,
