New York Public Library – I recently renewed my library card, and I’ve been checkin’ out books left and right. Okay, I’m actually on looong wait lists for most of the books I want to read because of their popularity, but I’ll get to them eventually. I’m currently reading Glitter and Glue by Kelly Corrigan (library book) and Funny Girl by Nick Hornby (Kindle read). (You can friend me on Goodreads to get my final thoughts!) This summer, the New York Public Library has even set up an Outdoor Reading Room at it’s 42nd Street location so book worms can get some reading in all while enjoying some Vitamin D. What a fantastic idea, no? What books are you planning to read this summer? Check back on the blog soon for my Summer Reading List.
Secrets & Lies – This ABC show is full of secrets, lies…and Ryan Phillippe’s abs. It’s centered around a North Carolina neighborhood as they try to cope with the murder of a young boy. Ryan Phillippe’s character, Ben Crawford, discovers the boy’s body and quickly becomes the main suspect in the case which is headed by Detective Andrea Cornell (played by Juliette Lewis). I quickly binge-watched this ten episode season, and while it got a little slow at times due to this crazy neighborhood having way too many secrets and lies, you must continue to watch until the season finale. You find out who the killer is! The entire season is available on Hulu Plus, and I’m sure it will hit Netflix soon.
Ingrid Nilsen – I recently discovered Ingrid Nilsen’s YouTube channels, Ingrid Nilsen and TheGridMonster, and since then I’ve watched about 87,454,974 of her videos in a week. She seems bubbly, nerdy, genuine, and fun. Plus, we have tons in common like our love of hot chocolate, doughnuts, New York City, ice cream (even in winter), Chipolte burrito bowls, books, plants, chunky sweaters, the color blue, and Target – just to name a few. We should basically be best friends…
Summer Workouts – Summer workouts are like regular workouts but better because they are outside! Last Sunday, I enjoyed yoga in the middle of busy Times Square. On Tuesday, I signed up for an outdoor cheerFIT class (which was brought indoors at the last minute due to rain but it was still great!). This Sunday, I am participating in a “RunYogaBeer” event (which includes all of the above) with Lululemon and SurfYogaBeer. Not only do I get to soak up some rays while working up a sweat, but another bonus is that most of these workouts are my favorite price – free!
Lily Grace – Tuesday was Lily’s birthday, and even though I found her a new family earlier this year I still had to make sure she was having the most amazing 4th birthday ever! Lily is loving her new lifestyle – being around her humans 24/7 and going on adventures to Pennsylvania and Cape Cod. She also regularly enjoys running around her new backyard and daily trips to the park. Her new family sent me tons of photos on her birthday that capture all the fun she’s been having, and my heart couldn’t be happier. It really shows that I made the right choice in finding her a new home because she deserves it even though it was hard to let her go.
That’s all, folks! What are you loving this week? Let me know in the comments below!
Stay fit and fabulous,
