The wonderful – and equally horrible – thing about New York City is the food. There are apps/websites like Seamless and UberEATS that will deliver practically any type of meal imaginable to your door. On the same block, you can buy a $1 pizza slice or a $300 hamburger. This city is filled with the culinary geniuses who brought the world ramen burgers, the “cronut” (a croissant/doughnut mix), and shot glasses of milk made out of actual chocolate chip cookie. While I’m constantly trying to make healthy choices, I still feel the need to taste these unique menu items New York City has to offer.
As with most of my restaurant finds these days, I came across Emack & Bolio’s on Instagram recently. I was immediately drawn to their unique flavors and fun cones. I patiently waited all week (even passing up on Haagen Dazs’ Free Cone Day!) until Friday Date Night rolled around. I ate a
light lighter dinner of butternut squash soup and crab cakes at Josie’s West in anticipation of the sweet treat soon to come.
Once Nick and I arrived at the Upper West Side’s Emack & Bolio’s, I was overwhelmed with delicious decisions! I had my heart set on a Rice Krispy treat cone, but what flavor of ice cream? They have over 30 wacky flavors of ice cream and yogurt including “Grasshopper Pie” and “S’moreo”. Nick settled on a cup filled with “Original Oreo” and “Cookie Monster” sprinkled with Reese’s Pieces on top. I had to go with “Chocolate Addiction” inside my Rice Krispy treat cone, and I couldn’t be happier!
Emack & Bolio’s has multiple locations worldwide including many shops in Massachusetts, New York, Florida and Illinois. Do you have a fun ice cream joint in your town? Let me know in the comments below!
