Last November, I joined Corporate America which has taken a toll on my fitness and healthy eating habits. If I’m going be honest, my eating habits have never been great (I’ve always admitted that food is my kryptonite!), but I was surrounded by more kale chips and green juices while working at SoulCycle and Lululemon for the last two years. Now, I work across the hall from the office snack room which is full of chips, Girl Scout cookies, and sodas. I also went from working out about 4-5 times per week (in addition to working on my feet) to sitting at a desk for 8-12 hours. At the end of the day, rolling into bed sounds a lot better than rolling out the yoga mat. (Corpse pose in bed, anyone?!) Plus, the the crazy NYC winter basically put me in hibernation mode for the last five months.
I knew for my body and my sanity, that I needed to make a change. Kicking off the 5th annual Tone It Up Bikini Series today seemed like the perfect way to jump back into a healthy and happy lifestyle! Karena and Katrina have literally laid out all of the meals and recipes one will need for this eight week challenge. I’ve made some slight modifications/substitutions to fit my schedule and budget but nothing that should negatively affect my results. My five goals are:
- Form clean eating habits.
- Tone up.
- Run, walk, bike, move 150 miles in 8 weeks #150bysummer
- Wake up at 6:00AM (whether it’s for a morning workout or just to read a chapter in a book).
- Stretch daily.
I’m using my Twitter account at @PopFitLife as my check-in platform. In addition, I plan to post a recap of my week’s workouts and meals on Sundays in order to hold myself accountable. It will be a great way to see my progress with my daily goals. Though the Bikini Series started today, you can still join! Who’s with me?
