It was time. As someone who can’t even keep the same haircut for too long, I wanted a change for my blog. PopFitLife has come a long way since I first published it in 2011 (It was called “Adventures with Alexandra” for the first year!), and I wanted a new look to reflect that. Finding someone to help with this re-design was the main hurdle. Not knowing if it would be better to work with a professional or a local college student needing to build a portfolio, I turned to my friend, Erin @ Her Heartland Soul, for advice since she just had help transforming her own blog. Erin introduced me to the Murnan Creative team.
Jeff (The Blog Genie) and Kevin (The Graphic Design Guru) from Murnan Creative are one heck of a power team! Although they live across the country, they worked with me closely until PopFitLife was everything I had imagined and more. They are extremely creative, hard working, and their services are reasonably priced, but the best part about working with Murnan Creative is that Jeff and Kevin truly listened to my ideas and feedback and then improved upon it all to make one amazing website for my readers! Some new features include:
Newsletter: You can now sign up for a newsletter that delivers each week’s posts to your inbox in one e-mail at the end of each week. It’s the easiest way to get your PopFitLife fix. I won’t spam you, and you always have the option to unsubscribe whenever you wish.
Reader Friendly Tabs: Do you only come to PopFitLife to read fitness posts or to read my reviews on the latest young adult fiction novel? You can now skip all the posts you aren’t interested in by clicking a specific “topic tab” under the header. So if you are planning a trip to the Big Apple soon and only want to read my posts on New York City, then click the new “NYC” tab. Easy as
Link Love: Want to follow me on Twitter or just check out the old, embarrassing YouTube vlogs I used to film in my bedroom? Now my social media sites are just a click away thanks to the new, pink icons in the right sidebar. These links will quickly take you to my Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter, and YouTube pages.
Seek and You Shall Find: Searching for that DIY: Swirly Nails post from 2011 or the review of my first SoulCycle class from 2012? You can find the specific post you are looking for faster by using the new search bar in the upper right hand corner or at the bottom of this site. Happy searching!
Jeff and Kevin are now my go-to guys for anything website related. I definitely recommend Murnan Creative for everything from a new graphic for your blog header to a complete website re-design like they did for me. I can’t stop looking at the cute header Kevin designed featuring me and Lily! I know it’s obvious that I’m obsessed with the new site, but I still want to hear your thoughts. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
Stay fit and fabulous,
