If you read my post on the things I am looking forward to doing this fall, you know I would love to run some races through the beautiful, fall foliage. I don’t think I specifically stated that, but what better way to experience a New England fall than to run through it? Let’s be honest! This morning I got serious about researching some races, and so far I think I’ve found some good ones.
Being the planner that I am, I went ahead and found some winter races as well! One of my favorite feelings is training/looking forward to an upcoming race. I’d love to hear your opinion on these races in the comments below!
This race would be awesome for three reasons – 1) It is for a good cause, 2) I’d get to wear lots of PINK, and 3) I would get to cross running through Central Park off my bucket list!
Donna did the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon in Savannah two years ago and loved it. This one takes place in Brooklyn which could have some great views.
The photos from the website won me over. The fall leaves are out of control!
This is supposed to be the same Sleepy Hallow town as in the Legend of Sleepy Hallow, so I’m already intrigued. I just wish it had a little more “cheesy-ness” to it such as costumes/Halloween-themed especially since it is so close to Halloween. Who am I kidding? I might still dress up. You know I love a good costume…
I discovered that November 11 is going to be World Run Day through Active. I celebrated National Running Day this summer, so I might as well celebrate World Run Day too! A bunch of cities are participating in this event, so be sure to check out Active to find one near you! I have to decide which CT city would be the best to run through…decisions, decisions.
I’m already registered for this one! My Hal Higdon training schedule is about to start kicking my butt – long runs begin soon! Other than keeping up with training, my biggest problem is deciding what character to dress up as…
I’m not registered for the 5th Anniversary Princess Half Marathon yet, but I will sign up soon. It will be my 4th year running this race – unfortunately, I am not a “Perfect Princess” :o( This race will be a blast as usual, but I think I am mostly excited about eating at the new Be Our Guest restaurant!
I’ve been wanting to do this race for over a year now. It isn’t on my exact birthday/Valentine’s Day this year, but I’ll just pretend.
This isn’t a run obviously, but I had to add it because I am so excited about it. This is a forty mile bike tour of the Five Boroughs. It is really relaxed – children do it and people stop for lunch along the way. Unfortunately, it is based off a lottery that takes place in February, so it might be hard to get in to. I’m trying to recruit a team currently if anyone is interested.
As I mentioned above, I would love to read your thoughts on these races. I’m also taking more suggestions for races in the New England area. I’m obviously willing to drive a bit if the race is neat enough. Let me know in the comments below!
Stay fit and fabulous,
