I mentioned in my Weekly Recap post from yesterday that the weather Saturday night felt like fall. It was crisp and cold, and while I love everything summer has to offer, the fall is my favorite season ever. I knew I wanted to write a post about the upcoming season for this week, but then I found this post that I did last August on the many reasons I adore fall. I loved re-reading that post for multiple reasons. First, it got me more excited about fall. Second, I think I used about 349,873,746 exclamation marks to express my love. Third, I was still new at blogging and while many things have changed since then, some things remain the same. Instead of a general fall post, this one will include things I’m excited about for this fall – my first fall up North!

Fall Foliage: New England is known as the place to go to see gorgeous fall leaves. Hands down. If interested, you can even take a fall foliage tour. There are many to choose from – the tour via hot air balloon actually sounds pretty amazing!
Fall Hike in CT: I’ve quickly learned that not only is CT known for being beautiful in the fall, it is also known for its hiking trails and state parks. Why not combine the two?
Football Games: Supposedly college football isn’t as popular up here as it is in the South…probably because Northern teams don’t rule football quite like the SEC does. Sad. None the less, I’m hoping to hit up a football game this season, even if it’s a professional one.
Central Park: While you know I love Central Park in the summer, I’ve made it my goal to experience it during every season.
Fire Pit: At Georgia Southern, fall was basically bonfire season. The closest thing I can find to that is the apartment fire pit on the rooftop. Hot chocolate + hoodie and I’m good to go.
Boston: I think visiting Boston would be the ultimate fall adventure. I don’t know if I will make it up this year, but it is on my bucket list for sure.
Fall TV Line Up: You know I can’t discuss fall without mentioning how excited I am for my favorite shows to return. I can’t remember the last time I watched a whole television show. I miss it…
Miami: Donna and I are scheduled to attend a conference in Miami at the end of September. While it will definitely not feel like fall down there, I am still really excited for this trip! First, I’ve never been to Miami except while driving through to Key West. Second, Kelly Cutrone will the featured speaker. Third, it will be an amazing networking event. Forth, I get to spend time with my bestie…even though we aren’t taking any of the same classes. Details soon!
Mom’s Wedding: My mom is getting married October 7th. It will be my first trip back to Atlanta (other than my layover en route to Miami). I’m hoping to hang out with my friends sometime that weekend, play/cuddle with Lily A TON, wear an amazing dress to the wedding, and enjoy an oatmeal bar at the reception!
Thanksgiving: I love Thanksgiving – it is one of my favorite traditions. This year might be a little different since I’m going to have to fly in, but I’m still excited! Every year we spend Thanksgiving in Knoxville. We have a delicious lunch – turkey, green bean casserole, bread rolls, mashed potatoes, devilled eggs, etc. It is basically all of my favorite foods in one sitting! After that we head to downtown Knoxville for the Fantasy of Trees! The Fantasy of Trees is an annual event held the week of Thanksgiving to raise money for the children’s hospital and to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. They have crafts, raffles, gingerbread houses, tons of Christmas trees, and live performances. Although I’m probably 15 years too old for this part, I enjoy making the holiday crafts and decorating a sugar cookie. It’s tradition!
NYC Decorated for Christmas: While I did get to see NYC all done up Christmas style when I visited for New Year’s Eve (I just now realized that my theory is right – how you spend NYE really IS how the rest of your year will go. Weird!), I can’t wait to do it again. There is so much I still want to do – ice skate in Central Park, have frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity, see the Rockettes, etc.
Snow?!: So I know snow usually comes in the winter, but I’m assuming you never know up here. Last year they had a snow/ice storm in October!
Halloween: I love Halloween. My friend Donna has talked about visiting that weekend! Either way, I think I already know what I am going to be. It is another creative costume a la my Wilson costume from last year…or I could go a totally new direction…or I could be a Disney princess to prepare for the Princess Half. Decisions, decisions…good thing I still have time ;o)
