Siesta Key Vacation Recap

July 16, 2012 2 Comments

As I mentioned in my Life Update post, I’ve been MIA the last couple weeks because I’ve been soaking up the sun in Siesta Key, Florida.  Every year David’s family gathers in Siesta Key for a family reunion/4th of July.  You might remember this recap from our trip to Siesta Key last summer.  It is always a fun time and the beaches are beautiful.  I definitely recommend a trip there – it is only an hour south of Tampa.  Check out my photos of this year’s trip below.  We did a lot of fun activities:
We attended the Rays vs. Yankees game in Tampa.  It was a cool experience – we had all you can eat seats which included a hot dog bar, salad bar, Chinese food, dessert bar, etc. Yum!  The stadium itself is cool because it is completely enclosed and there is a tank full of rays!
There were a ton of lanterns sent up into the sky on Independence Day.  I wish that was our celebration instead.  They are gorgeous and less loud that fireworks!
I have my festive July 4th outfit on ;o)
Siesta Key is known for its gorgeous beaches and sand, but it also had beautiful sunsets!
On Friday we went sailing!  Look at David helping out.
I drove the ship!
I definitely recommend doing this if you are ever in the area.  Here is their contact information.  They also have a Facebook page – Sail Venice!
I love seafood!
I paddleboarded for the first time!  It was number 32 on my bucket list.  It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be.  The key is balance.  You mostly use your core and arms.
The paddleboard was almost 12 feet tall!

Looks like so much fun! My mom and I have wanted to try paddleboarding — however actually buying a board is crazy expensive. But what a great workout!

YES! I’ve been to Siesta Keys and the beaches there are really beautiful! I love the white sand. You look like you had a great time!
