Hola, Adventures with Alexandra readers! Long time, no chat. A lot has been going on in my life in the last month or so, and I feel like I need to fill you in…
First, I haven’t been posting six days a week like usual the last two weeks because I was at the beach with David’s family for family reunions/4th of July celebrations. While I brought my laptop, I was on the beach all day and socializing with David’s family and friends all night. I had a wonderful time and will be doing a vacay recap Monday. Today begins when I (hopefully) get back on my regular posting schedule and my blogversary celebration/giveaways.
Second, I have a huge life change coming up in the next week – I’m moving from my home of 14 years – Atlanta, Georgia – to Stamford, Connecticut. This is a huge move for me for multiple reasons. To name a few – I”ll be moving in with my dad & Nancy to start off + I’ll be moving across the country from the South to the North + I’ll be searching for a career and my first official place (not including college life). I am extremely nervous, but I’m very excited at the same time! Stamford is a 40 minute train ride from New York City. I’m hoping to eventually make the move into the city if that’s what my cards have in store. Thankfully, I already have some new friends there! Everything has fallen into place to make this the perfect time for this move. I just hope the career and the “my first place” parts fall into place as well.
Third, while attending the Fitness and Health Bloggers Conference in Colorado last month, I thought of a bunch of great ideas for my blog. The biggest idea involves a blog makeover – including a name change! While the blog will still include all of my adventures – and trust me, I’m sure I will have a ton in the next few months – I just want something shorter and more catchy. I’m hoping to buy the domain and transfer all of my old posts to my new site. I’ve been told this is easy to do and no matter if you plug in the new domain site or www.adventureswithalexandra.blogspot.com, you will still be able to get to my site. Please bear with me during this transition!
I think those are all of the life updates I have for now. In the next week I will be getting back into my marathon training routine + a junk/vacay food detox + a blogging routine + packing like a crazy person! Please comment below if you have any recommendations for things to do and see up North. I have a good list going on my bucket list, but I love adding new things constantly!
Wish me luck!
I live about 20 minutes from the city! You’re going to love it, but it’s definitely going to be a huge transition! Good luck! 🙂
Ali we have a lot in common! I am also born and raised in Atlanta, and I now live in NYC and work in Stamford doing the reverse commute. Good luck with your move – you’ll love it up here!!
Thank you! I hope it all works out!
Wow… Alec, that’s great news about your move! 🙂 Now is the time to take on a new adventure! Sounds like things have been going well for you! I miss you!
I’m nervous/excited about this adventure. I hope it all works out. Miss you too! After my full, I am going after my first tri! I’m planning on doing this 40 mile bike ride through the five boroughs in May. It sounds like a great way to see the area :o)
Sounds like all kinds of great things coming really soon. Being close to NYC will be awesome! 🙂
Thank you – I hope so!
