As I mentioned in this previous post, my dad and step-mom got me a really awesome gift for Christmas this year! I don’t know how they originally heard about the gift, but the idea for the gift stemmed from my love of my Operation: Princess Pen Pal project.
So, lets get to it!
Basically, there is a castle in Argyll, Scotland known as Dunans Castle that is currently being restored. If you make a “donation” to restore the castle, you automatically own one square foot of the property. In Scotland, if you own land, you receive the Scottish title of Lady (female) or Laird (male). Not only is Dunans Castle home to the tallest tree in the whole United Kingdom, but it is also rumored that Madonna thought about getting married on the property during her wedding in 2000 to Guy Ritchie. Impressed yet? If not – along with the bragging rights of what I just mentioned – Ladies and Lairds of Dunans Castle can also receive stationary and business cards with their new titles as well as an email address. Are you getting your wallets out yet?
|No climbing please!|
My dad and step-mom also said we were going to try to take a family trip this spring to visit the United Kingdom and our new castle in Scotland. I said we should all stand on our one square foot of property and take a photo. The six of us will look like chess pieces (I will of course be the Queen and everyone else my pawns ;o) Ladies and Lairds of the castle can visit for free. Plus, they will tell you the exact one square foot you own :o)
I wish I had gotten the stationary before writing all of the royal families. Maybe then they would have all written me back, no? Check back soon for an update on the new princess letters I received…including Duchess Kate! Also, comment below and give me travel ideas for places in the United Kingdom because I have never been! Maybe we can coordinate our trip with the Queen’s Jubilee. If I see Prince William or Duchess Kate, I might just about die.
